A Song for the Morrow – 明日歌

明日歌 (钱福)

明日复明日
明日何其多
我生待明日
万事成蹉跎
A Song for the Morrow* (Qian Fu)

The morrow begets the morrow,
Oh so many tomorrows!
I live to deal with tomorrow,
All I’ve accomplished fades away

* Rough translation by yours truly.

This profound, well-known poem, was written by Ming Dynasty poet Qian Fu, a scholar whose work featured modesty (much like the rest of Chinese scholars, as it were).
